The Bloodline of the Blessing

But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name. Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!].

—John 1:12-13 AMP

Your Own Bloodline Starts with Adam and Eve

The advances in genetics have spawned an entire sector for personal DNA research. Firms are being paid small fortunes to unearth the whereabouts of the ancestral roots of others. I am not knocking these endeavors; for I too would find it interesting to connect with the lives of those who came before me. Until that time, however, all I have to go on is the Bible. My bloodline (and yours too if you are born again) traces back to the Garden of Eden—yes, to Adam and Eve. And there was nothing negative, dead or evil in that garden. God gave them heaven on earth. He is a father, and what kind of father would not want to create the best for his children?

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil; and a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; and the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

—Genesis 2:7-15 KJV

What a setup! I should think that the news media would become quite unnerved if Christians started to live this way in masses. Yet most children of God go along with the world and passively consume toxic garbage served in continuous doses by every available outlet. The garden described above is where your bloodline began. It is a picture of your life in its proper state. A child born of God by the will of God—you are in the bloodline of The Blessing of the Lord! Yes, it’s good news—take it in!

You Have an Inheritance

The first words Adam and Eve ever heard were, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion … (Genesis 1:28)”. God did not precondition the human mind like a squirrel or a bird. He spoke into man and expected a response of faith in the words that were spoken. The Father gave us free will and we were created with the ability to be blessed through this free will. We have to choose to operate in the Blessing (Deuteronomy 30:19-20). God blessed them by saying. He told them who they were (Eve was still inside Adam when God spoke). So our greatest grandfather Adam knew who he was before Satan entered the garden. He had not heard anything negative about himself or contrary to what God had spoken over him—but he chose the curse.

This is how the enemy talks the people of God out of the inheritance of their bloodline. It is imperative that you know who and what you are in Christ. Your blood is royal and you have no business eating what you’ve been eating, wearing what you’ve been wearing, living where you’ve been living and driving what you’ve been driving (that is of course if you are not walking in the fullness of the Blessing!). Your assignment is to have dominion and multiply. It is just as was the assignment of everyone who carried the Blessing before you. After the expulsion of man from the garden, the Blessing was not eradicated.

God searched out men who would obey him by following His commands and He blessed them. In my next article I will chronicle the lives of some of these men. Until then, meditate on the reality that you are a part of a royal and blessed bloodline. Sickness, poverty and death DO NOT run in the family!

Be blessed friends, and have the perfect day everyday!
